Furthermore, Coffee as a commercial crop has boosted the growth of Plantation Industry in India.

level. The Chandra Drona mountain (Chandragiri) wherein Mullayanagiri is a top peak i.e., 6317 ft. fom MSL. The Himalaya on the North and Nilgiris on the South are the highest ever peaks in India, next to which Mullayanagiri comes. Comparatively there are many more hills in this District with little lesser elevation. Boothankadu is a village near Mudigere, Coffee Growing zone in the District. In the year 1924 a Coffee estate was formed in this place. ‘Boothappa’ was the chief deity here, after whom this place was called ‘BOOTHANAKADU’.
